Cars with Senior-Friendly Features Make Driving Easier and Safer

FFCmixedusedcars

Vehicles with adjustable power seats and adjustable pedals may make driving easier for aging motorists.

Aging drivers who want to remain safe on the roads must be aware of new challenges they may face and find ways to adjust.

For example, senior drivers might find it more difficult to turn their heads to watch for oncoming traffic. Braking at a moment’s notice may be more difficult due to physical changes.

It’s also smart to take advantage of some of the new technology that makes driving a car easier. Features like adjustable power seats, a low door threshold and adjustable foot pedals are amenities that can make driving safer for anyone.

rearview-camera

Backup cameras can reduce the need for painful twisting and turning.

Bonus features like heated seats can reduce driving discomfort while backup cameras can increase driving proficiency.

According to edmunds.com, the best vehicle to accommodate senior drivers include features that support upper and lower mobility issues, reduced stature, weight gain, arthritis and vision impairment.

Features like adjustable lumbar support, large wide-angle mirrors and large windows are also a big plus. Parking aides such as backup cameras and front and rear parking sensors can reduce the need for painful twisting and turning, according to edmunds.com.

Florida Fine Cars checked in with Mayo Clinic to find out the best ways aging drivers can stay safe. Here’s the well-grounded advice we received:

7 tips from the Mayo Clinic to help seniors drive safely

  1. Stay physically active. A physically active driver will find it easier to turn the steering wheel, look over their shoulder and react with greater speed. Drivers should remain active by walking, stretching or doing strength exercises to remain physically fit, the Mayo Clinic suggests.
  2. Schedule regular vision and hearing tests. Vision and hearing can decline with age, so it’s important to have both checked annually to remain safe on the road. Certain vision-related ailments like macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts can make it difficult to drive at night or even see properly during the day. Hearing issues could pose a safety risk for a driver who could not hear a train horn or the wail of an ambulance siren. Getting such medical conditions treated can reduce the risk of an accident.
  3. Address chronic health conditions. Ongoing health issues such as diabetes, epilepsy or a heart condition must be properly regulated to avoid a medical emergency on the road that could cause a traffic accident. Taking care of your health not only protects you but other drivers on the road, who could be affected if you are unable to safely control your own vehicle.
  4. Know your limitations. If your eyesight is poor, choose a vehicle with larger, easier-to-read dials on the dashboard or one that has safety features that help you change lanes and manage your blind spot.
  5. Drive when the roads are in good condition. Senior drivers can improve their driver safety by driving during the day. Remember, rain and snow can make driving treacherous.
  6. Stay focused. Distracted driving is one of the most common causes of accidents. Stay off your cell phone, plan your route, and keep your eyes on the road. If you are worried about getting lost, program your GPS to help you stay on track.
  7. Stay current. Update your driving skills regularly so you know your strengths and weaknesses. Take a refresher course if you need one, and if you feel unsafe behind the wheel, stop driving. With ride services like Uber and Lyft, taxis and public transportation, a ride is just a phonecall away.

Auto Buffs Showcase Their Offbeat Rides

NORTH PALM BEACH – The four auto enthusiasts sat together on folding chairs, ribbing each other about their cars and occasionally fielding questions about their cool rides.

The crowd flowing into Cars and Coffee Palm Beach, used to a steady diet of high-end exotics and super-charged muscle cars, noticed they were offering something different.

A rust-encrusted 1950 Ford COE (cab over engine), a 1937 Chevrolet Coupe,  a 1927 red Ford T-Bucket and an imposing white 1955 Chevrolet sedan delivery were creating a buzz that set them apart.

truck

Tony Magri poses with his 1950 COE, a truck he built with parts from eight vehicles.

“It is what it is. I don’t want to fix it,” said a grinning Tony Magri, when asked about his rusty farm truck with the words, “Wilbur Pleasant, Pearl City, ILL” on the drivers side door. “Give me your car, $6,000 and 60 years and I’ll give you back this truck.”

The way he sees it, his custom rust bucket is seasoned to perfection.

‘Knuckleheads Car Club’  Composed of Fun-Loving Auto Enthusiasts

Meet the Knuckleheads Car Club, an unofficial group of fun-loving car buffs who tinker on vintage rides, poke fun at each other and revel in the thrill of rebuilding. Florida Fine Cars spoke with the group to find out more.

Lantana resident Art Rauch’s hearse-like white 1955 Chevrolet sedan delivery was pure eye candy for the car lover who favors something different. The 16-foot long station wagon — built like a tank — is one of three registered in Florida, two of which belong to Rauch.

Chevydelivery

Art Rauch’s 1955 Chevrolet sedan delivery is often mistaken for a hearse.

“The frame is stock all the way to the back. The car has been back-halfed,” Rauch explained. “It brings the frame in narrower so you can put wider tires on it.”

Admirers posed for pictures with the car, nodding in admiration.

At first glance, Magri’s reconfigured tractor trailer appeared to be a vintage farm truck. But it’s really a surprising patchwork of auto parts.

Magri, a former truck driver who owns Tony’s 561 Garage in West Palm Beach, bought the rusty old semi truck from a farmer who used it until 2010 to transport a corn shucker. Magri converted the cab to a pickup truck and rebuilt everything else. The end product is the result of about 400 hours of work, he said.

When he started, the hood of the truck was about 10 feet high. The truck is built on a Dodge dually chassis, with a Dodge transmission and a Dodge engine.

“It’s a combination of eight vehicles. The cab is Ford, it has customized 1957 Chevy bumpers, the turn signals are from a Harley Davidson and the hood emblem is from a 1950 Buick,” Magri said. “The visor is off a 1949 Pontiac, the tail lights are from a 1959 Cadillac and it’s all built on a 1972 Mini Winnie motorhome chassis.”

What’s not to like?

“I LOVE it,” said passerby Mike Hartsock, of Hobe Sound. “It’s a classic.”

chevycoupe

Tony Nardullo’s 1937 Chevrolet Coupe was originally used as a delivery vehicle.

Nearby, Royal Palm Beach resident Tom Nardullo’s sleek black 1937 Chevrolet Coupe was turning heads.

The 1950s hot rod has been modified and sports an engine with three carburetors and gleaming chrome air filter covers. The car has a single bench seat.

“It was originally used to deliver things. They were called a ‘business coupe.’ They would put things in the trunk,” Nardullo said.

The gas mileage?  Terrible, and it leaks oil constantly.

“It’s messy to keep in the garage,” Nardullo confessed. His wife hates it.

Johnny Tortorella’s 1927 red Ford T Bucket is a showstopper but you wouldn’t know it by talking to Magri. Magri refers to the car as a “dune buggy” to get a rise out of his friend.

Tortorella hits back by lobbing insults at Magri’s rusty old truck.

Tbucket

This 1927 Ford T Bucket was built from a kit. No, it’s NOT a dune buggy!

“We make fun of each other’s cars all the time,” Tortorella chuckled.

The T Bucket is a replica of a Model T Ford that was “chopped up” to look like it is today. The car has a 300 HP motor and weighs just 1,500 pounds so it’s pretty quick.

There’s no door so you have to jump in. Tortorella built it for about $20,000 from a kit. It’s equipped with a a 350 HP Chevrolet motor.

Auto Show Eats Satify Hungry Car Show Crowd

NORTH PALM BEACH – The line at Little Snokyo was 10 people deep and John Salazar and his wife Nicole were up to their elbows in ice.

conorsnowcone

Conor Defreitas enjoys a blueberry snowcone.

Nearby, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and McLarens glistened in the glare of the mid-morning sun. The mercury topped 80 and the air was sticky and hot. Customers forked over $5 a scoop as fast as the Salazars could dish it out.

It was a broiling day at Cars and Coffee and business was blazing.

“Rainbow is the most popular: cherry, blue raspberry and lemon,” Salazar said. “It tastes good and looks pretty.”

So what’s the link between cool cars and fun food? Florida Fine Cars caught up with Salazar at Cars and Coffee Palm Beach to find out.

“It’s endless summer in Florida. It’s always hot, and people want to bring their families to the car scene and have family time,” Salazar said.

Salazar’s snow cone truck is a regular at the popular car show. He typically brings 100 pounds of ice and eight gallons of flavored syrup so he can serve 100-150 show cones to car enthusiasts looking for a break.

snowcones

Little Snokyo serves up to 150 snowcones during the Cars and Coffee car show.

“I once had a buddy who drove all the way from Miami to West Palm Beach to get the snow cones. It’s a win-win,” Salazar said. “The kids love it and the adults like to relive their childhood with it.”

Conor Defreitas, 5, is one of those kids. His dad bought him a blueberry-flavored snow cone which promptly turned his tongue blue.

“It’s hot and it’s what kids enjoy. Why not?”said Ricardo Defreitas, of Hollywood.

The snow cone truck often causes some buzz itself.

It’s a 1992 Daihatsu Hijet micro van Salazar modified to serve as a food truck. The vehicle came with a three-cylinder engine which he replaced with a six cylinder motorcycle engine. Salazar, his wife and son Dominic, 10, have driven it as far north as Daytona Beach.

wafflewagon

Waffles and chicken sells for $11 a plate, a popular favorite.

A short distance away, the Waffle Wagon was drawing crowds. Customers clamored for plates of chicken and waffles as quick as Loxahatchee residents Sal and Kelley Accardi could serve the $11 meals up.

“We usually do about 150-200 customers in that little time frame – that translates into 150-200 waffles, some with chicken and some without,” Sal Accardi said.

Other popular treats include waffles with Nutella or soft-serve ice cream flavored with carmelized bananas, at $7 a serving.

The Waffle Wagon opens for business at 8 a.m. and usually sells out by 11 a.m. And the line never ends.

That Accardi sets up shop at a car show is no surprise. He’s been building show cars himself for over 25 years, ranging from crazy hydraulic dancing cars to slammed lowrider trucks. But his daily driver IS his food truck, and it’s not a regular car. Inside is all chrome with custom everything.

Walk to the north end of the car show lot and you can’t miss the smokey smell of Meathead’s BBQ.

shaybbq

Shay Hicks and her husband Marcel serve BBQ from Meathead’s BBQ food truck.

Marcel and Shay Hicks cook up their mouth-watering magic.

Marcel, the pit master, might run through 36 pounds of brisket and a case of pulled pork at a single car show.

“I have a line from the time we open up to the time we close,” Marcel chuckled. “When you have car shows people come out and they are out for a few hours and they get hungry. Barbecue is just a hit. They go together.”

Meathead’s BBQ is a family-owned and operated small-business with the motto, ”Straight From The Grill To Your Plate.”

Marcel began barbecuing for fundraiser’s for high school events for his children and it took off from there. Now it’s the family business.

“I love what I do,” he said.

Want to blow smoke out your nose and mouth?

tornado

Naty and Ash Zariat serve Tornado potatoes, Dragon Breath cereal and lamb gyros.

Check out Tornado Food, home of the novelty cereal known as

Dragon Breath, a fruity delight soaked in liquid nitrogen. When you eat the super-crunchy cold treat, white “smoke” billows out your nose and mouth.

“A lot of people get it and they like to take pictures by the cars and blow the smoke out of mouth and nose,” said Naty Zariat, who runs Tornado food with her husband Ash. “It’s a lot of fun. They share the pictures on social media.”

She also serves the spiral-cut “tornado potato” on a stick, plain or loaded with cheese sauce, sour cream, green onions and bacon.

Gyros with lamb, and the hummus with chips are also big crowd pleasers.

Delray Beach resident Howard Jacobs and Fort Lauderdale resident Ira Horowitz tried the lamb gyros and swore they were perfection.

gyrocustomers

Howard Jacobs and Ira Horowitz dined on lamb gyros at Cars and Coffee.

Fresh vegetables, good aroma, the meat was tasty and the pita was soft, said Horowitz, event coordinator for the Ferrari Club of America.

“I’m a foodie. I love food and I even had a cigar afterwards,” Horowitz chuckled.

Florida Fine Cars Earns Top National Ranking AGAIN

FFC_TOP100 aerial(MIAMI – For the second year in a row, Florida Fine Cars, a family-owned, independent used car dealer, has been nationally ranked by Auto Remarketing Magazine as one of the top used car dealers in the country.

Florida Fine Cars has stores in West Palm Beach, Margate, Hollywood and Miami. The dealership has also recently launched a car subscription service, Ameridrive, available by downloading a convenient phone app.

Florida Fine Cars’ 2017 annual sales qualified the dealership for inclusion in the magazine’s annual “Top 100 Used Car Dealers” list. Dealers were selected for the “Top 100” list based on dealer rankings data provided by Cross-Sell Reports, which collects sales data via state Departments of Motor Vehicles, according to the magazine.

The rankings focus on “some of the strongest used-car selling independent stores in the country,” Auto Remarketing notes.

“This is where we highlight some of the strongest used car selling independent stores in the country,” the magazine states.

The “Top 100” list was published in Auto Remarketing’s June 1, 2018 edition.

Flashy Formula One Novelty Has Collectible Appeal

Tramontana3

Tramontana Formula One car on display at Cars and Coffee Palm Beach.

NORTH PALM BEACH – It’s brilliant blue, street legal and about as bad as it can be.

But this Formula One car by Tramontana isn’t just another race car.

It’s a rare, high-powered novelty for the car collector who has everything. And it will definitely turn heads!

“If you want to be the only guy in your town with this car, you will be the only guy in your town AND your state,” said Ozzie Saez, international sales representative with Tramontana. “For a while there are only two in the United States – one in Houston and the other is here in Florida.”

Florida Fine Cars caught up with Tramontana at Cars and Coffee Palm Beach, where curiosity-seekers and admirers surrounded their cool car all morning.

Car Assembly Operation to Move from Spain to Miami

The Barcelona, Spain-based company has produced about 12 of the sleek Supercars a year since it was founded in 2005. Cost per car is approximately $750,000.

According to Saez, the company is moving a portion of its operations to South Florida, where it will assemble the Formula One cars in a facility near Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Tramontana3

Tramontana Supercar is a rare reproduction car. Pricetag: $750K.

Tramontana is still trying to determine if it will only do final assembly at the South Florida location, or bring over the molds and build the cars from scratch here, Saez said.

Each car is customized, based on what the buyer is seeking. Everything from seating capacity and windshield configuration to paint and wheels is tailored to the buyer’s individual taste.

The Tramontana website promotes the cars’ one-of-a-kind lure.

“Each Tramontana is different and unique, much more than a simple vehicle. It feels as if it were the artist’s most valuable jewel or finest piece of art,” the website says. “It’s limited production turns each single vehicle into something entirely custom-made, in the most exclusive way,” the website says.

Car enthusiasts are urged to view the Tramontana as a unique work of art instead of a simple car.

The brilliant blue car that was displayed at Cars and Coffee Palm Beach was built with an open cockpit and a passenger’s seat. Saez predicts that whoever buys that Supercar will want to someday put it on the road.

“The biggest variant is the engine output,” Saez noted. “The base engine is 600 HP and we can build up to 1100 HP very reliably.”

Supercars are Super Cool … to Show Off

Tramontana1

This Tramontana Formula One car was surrounded by admirers at a recent Cars and Coffee Palm Beach event.

So what does somebody do with a radical ride like this?

Show it off!

“When you buy a car like this you are taking it out on a perfect day, to a special event. It’s a very special car. As a street legal car, people are using it for special events,” Saez said.

The car is built out of carbon fiber, so it only weighs about 2,400 pounds.

Part of the lure is the “wow” factor.

“Some of the things we’ve developed in this last year alone include carbon ceramic brakes and three different cockpit options. The open top is available with a wind deflector and three different wind screens: a 4-inch wind deflector and 8-inch and 12-inch tall wind screens that wrap around and pull back over the dashboard,” Saez noted.

Although their clientele is an exclusive crowd, Tramontana cars are still being driven on six different continents, Saez said.

“These (owners) are very private and very, very wealthy with 200+ car collections,” Saez chuckled. “At $750,000, it’s not for everyone to throw at a car they are going to use maybe once or twice a year.”

Revolve: A Luxury Car Membership That Makes It Easy to Drive in Style

asokaveeravagu

Revolve co-owner Asoka Veeravagu stands next to a BMW i8, one of many luxury cars available to Revolve members.

NORTH PALM BEACH – Ever wish you could take a BMW i8 for a spin without coughing up a whopping $150,000 to own this classy ride?

And what if you see a car you like better and wish you’d shopped around more before signing on the dotted line?

The answer is “Revolve,” a luxury automotive subscription service and the brainchild of former GM engineering director Asoka Veeravagu, the company’s co-founder and CEO. The service allows members to drive the luxury car of their dreams for a few months and then switch it out for something else.FFC Logo New Car

Try out a Tesla and if it turns out to be too high tech, swap it out for an Aston Martin, Cadillac, Corvette, Maserati, Mercedes, Audi or Jaguar. Just pick your ride and hit the road.

Florida Fine Cars caught up with the company’s founders at a recent Cars and Coffee car meet to find out more.

How the Idea of a Car Membership Evolved

While at GM, Veeravagu’s employee ID and executive status gave him had access to a warehouse of high-end cars for personal driving. The idea for Revolve was born out of that business experience, he said.

“Why doesn’t this exist for consumers in the real world?” Veeravagu wondered. So he and co-owner Scott Blando made it happen. They opened the business in May 2017 and have been going strong ever since.

revolve

Asoka Veeravagu, co-owner of Revolve, at a recent Cars and Coffee car meet in North Palm Beach.

Their customers are people who love to drive but may not want to own the same luxury vehicle for three years, Veeravagu said.

“Revolve provides flexibility and variety where it’s never existed in the auto world if you’re a car lover and you appreciate fine cars,” he added.

Don’t expect to find a Volkswagen Beetle or a Mazda M3 at Revolve.

Cars Available Via Revolve Membership Pack a Punch

“All of our cars are what we call ‘Wow’ cars. All are special and all evoke emotion,” Veeravagu said. “The BMW i8 is gorgeous and it looks like a spaceship just landed. But not everyone wants to own it for three years.”

A marketing brochure describes Revolve as a “revolutionary driving experience” and a “frictionless automotive service.”

“With our premium vehicle subscription service, you don’t choose one luxury vehicle, you can drive them all,” the brochure says.

Membership Means Hassle-Free Driving

Vascular surgeon David Feldbaum of Plantation has been a Revolve member since the day it opened and loves it.

He owns several exotic cars but doesn’t like to drive them regularly. He has three young children and he likes large luxury cars for daily use. So joining Revolve made sense.

“The reason why I like this company is it’s hassle free. I basically pay one fee and they deliver the cars to me. They pick it up if it needs any maintenance. They will swap it out for another car. It is really nice to know they will meet me where ever I am,” Feldbaum said. “They also include the insurance so I don’t have to worry about contacting my insurance company every month about changing vehicles.”

Feldbaum also likes the variety of changing vehicles every two months. So far he’s driven an Audi RS7, a Mercedes s550, a Range Rover and a Porsche Panamera.

“I look at these cars as carefree driving of luxury car on a daily basis. I work in it, I take it back and forth to the gym and the grocery store. It’s also a nice car to take the family out to dinner,” Feldbaum said.

How a Revolve Membership Works

  • Joining Revolve requires a $500 membership fee
  • Participation costs $2,300 a month
  • Vehicles can be switched every two to three months
  • Drivers can put up to 2,000 miles per month on a car
  • Insurance is covered
  • Membership can be cancelled at any time

“There’s no commitment,” explained Marketing and Communications manager Melissa Daniels.

“A lot of our members are surgeons, doctors, CEOs or have their own business.”

The most common question, Daniels said, is how much does it cost?

“We explain to them that the car is not for sale. It’s a vehicle membership program,” Daniels said

Revolve’s website describes the membership service as a four-step process:

  1. View the collection and prioritize your favorite vehicles
  2. Car is delivered to your home
  3. Drive it for a few months like it is your own
  4. Return the car to Revolve and get another

Florida Fine Cars Improves Service with Customer Email Connection

moreusedcars

Used cars fill the showroom at Florida Fine Cars.

MIAMI – When it comes to customer service, Florida Fine Cars is king. The family owned used car dealership is setting an impressive standard that has earned the growing business national recognition on popular consumer review sites for responsiveness.

The company, celebrating 25 years in business, has recently implemented an email system that puts customers in direct communication with Florida Fine Cars if they can’t reach a salesperson via phone and need a question answered quickly.FFC Logo New Car

The intent is to offer help quickly and efficiently.

Florida Fine Cars Fine Tunes Customer Service Options

Here’s how it works: Customers simply send their questions to “customercare@floridafinecars.com” for the fastest service around. A Florida Fine Cars customer care expert replies as quickly as possible.

“It’s in place so we can offer our customers faster service.  Let’s say for example a customer is having difficulty getting a hold of someone. We would suggest for them to send an email to customercare@floridafinecars.com,” said Florida Fine Cars marketing coordinator Cesar Pentzke.  “It’s kind of like an express way for customer care.  Once the email comes to our attention then we make sure the request gets sent to the appropriate outlet.”

Online Reputation Can Make or Break a Business

It’s important stuff because unhappy customers aren’t shy about making their views known on consumer review sites. And too many bad reviews online can become a nightmare.

morecarsinline

Used cars await buyers at Florida Fine Cars.

Making sure a business’s online reputation is a positive one is something no business owner can afford to overlook. That’s why Florida Fine Cars strives to be innovative in finding different ways to hear customer concerns and provide the best service possible.

According to Forbes magazine, businesses “risk losing 22 percent of business when potential customers find a negative article on their first page of search results. That number increases to 44 percent lost business with two negative articles and 59 percent with three negative article.”

Simply said, what consumers find online can have a huge impact on business.

“Online reputation management is important for businesses of any size,” notes smallbiztrends.com. “It’s about creating a positive Web presence to make your brand one that people trust and want to engage with.”

Florida Fine Cars is making an overwhelmingly positive mark.

2018Dealerratercustomersatis“The staff at this dealership really delivers quality service. Management, sales and financing staff were all friendly and helpful with the purchase of the vehicle,” wrote one customer in an April 2018 DealerRater review.

Wrote another customer in an April 2018 Google review: “If you are looking for someone who is willing to give you advice on what you need to hear rather than what you want to hear, then look no further and check into this dealer. Highly recommended.”

Dealership Earns Customer Satisfaction Award for Third Time

For the third year in a row, one of the country’s most popular consumer review sites  recognized Florida Fine Cars

carsinline

Used cars line a lot at Florida Fine Cars.

for consistently delivering outstanding customer service.

The South Florida dealership received DealerRater’s 2018 Consumer Satisfaction Award for providing top-notch service to used cars buyers in the Tri-County area and across the nation. The used car chain has stores in Miami, Hollywood, West Palm Beach and Margate.

The award gives Florida Fine Cars a unique distinction based on the dealership’s high volume of five-star online customer reviews.

“Providing our customers with an enjoyable, stress-free car-buying experience that emphasizes quality service is what Florida Fine Cars is all about,” said marketing director Jamie Suid. “We want every customer to leave with a great car and great memories. And our amazing reviews show that we are hitting the mark.”

DealerRater features more than four million dealer reviews, and has a reachable audience of more than 32 million car shoppers each month.

Florida Fine Cars’ new customer care initiative is important because a company’s online reputation can be the deciding factor on which link a customer clicks first and where they ultimately decide to buy.

It’s important to remember that when it comes to people buying a product from brands and businesses, a majority of people look for other user opinions online.

Swimsuit Models Wow Car Show Crowd at Cars and Coffee Event

PALM BEACH GARDENS – Swimsuit model Cristina Tufford flashed a megawatt smile at a fan and scribbled her signature on a glossy calendar. The crowd at the Cars and Coffee meet was thick and a line at the calendar giveaway table was beginning to build.

Florida Fine Cars caught up with the Tropic Beauty swimsuit models at the autograph table to find out how they got involved.

The 29-year-old from West Palm Beach is one of Tropic Beauty’s November 2018 calendar girls. She was at the Palm Beach Outlets Mall to mingle.

IMG_6284

Tropic Beauty models Cristina Tufford and Gabriella Davis hold up a 2018 calendar at a recent Cars and Coffee event.

“I was Miss Palm Beach, Miss Jupiter and Miss Seminole,” said Tufford, explaining her long association with modeling and pageants. “I started with the brand when I was 23.”

The company sprang from Hawaiian Tropic, known for its tanning oils, bikini contests and beautiful spokeswomen who hawked the company’s products in showy swimwear. Tropic Beauty was created to provide a venue for the models after Playtex Products Inc. bought Hawaiian Tropic in 2007, and then Energizer Holdings Inc. bought Playtex a short time later.

“Tropic Beauty didn’t want to give up the models,” Tufford said.

Tropic Beauty Fills Gap Left by Hawaiian Tropic

Boca Raton resident Amy Raley, who used to work with Hawaiian Tropic, made it all happen. The former model started Tropic Beauty from scratch after Energizer discontinued the model search.FFC Logo New Car

“I started going into all the markets that previously had Hawaiian Tropic,” Raley said. “Now we work with Wynn Nightlife and a 5-star hotel in Las Vegas. We do photoshoots and do a competition with the best photographs. The best of the best are picked for the calendar.”

Copies of the new Tropic Beauty calendar were a hot commodity at a recent Cars and Coffee event.

Tropic Beauty’s website describes the company as “a model & photographers platform for a dream career and fascinating lifestyle in the entertainment industry. It allows them to be noticed, published and excel.”

The Tropic Beauty models have become brand ambassadors and social media influencers, Raley said.

“A lot of people invite us to come to their events to boost their social media presence,” Raley said.

Modeling Experience Offers Opportunity, Recognition

Gabriella Davis, 20, of Houston, TX, is one of the newest Tropic Beauty models. She works Tropic Beauty appearances in around her schedule as a full-time student at the University of Houston, real estate school and cheering professionally for the Houston Texans.

“It’s fun,” she said of Tropic Beauty. “Absolutely amazing people.”

So what are the top four comments/questions the models hear?

  • Are the calendars free?
  • Are you in it?
  • Which one are you?
  • Let me see if I can guess!
  • Can I get a picture with you?

Catherine Cybulkiewicz, 28, is one of the calendar’s March 2018 models. The graphic designer from Miami is a native of Venezuela and has been working for Tropic Beauty since 2014. She was Miss Tropic Beauty Las Vegas in 2015 and won third place in the World Finals in 2014.

“I love being on the stage. It’s always fun,” Cybulkiewicz said. “Modeling is a passion. It’s like a hobby.”

She began modeling at age 17 in Venezuela and has participated in at least nine beauty contests.

The contacts she made through Tropic Beauty helped pave the way for her to be chosen as a cover girl for a French magazine.

Tropic Beauty has provided opportunities for new life experiences, she noted.

And that is exactly what their Facebook pages says. It describes Tropic Beauty as “A Health & Beauty Company that is Home to the Most #beautiful Swimwear Models in the World! Leader in the Swimsuit Calendar Photo Shoot Experience!”

Florida Fine Cars’ Customer Service Wins National Recognition

MIAMI – For the third year in a row, one of the country’s most popular consumer review sites has recognized used car giant Florida Fine Cars for consistently delivering outstanding customer service.2018Dealerratercustomersatis

The family-owned dealership received DealerRater’s 2018 Consumer Satisfaction Award for providing top-notch service to used cars buyers in the Tri-County area and across the nation. The used car chain, with stores in Miami, Hollywood and West Palm Beach, recently opened a fourth store in Margate to accommodate growth.

Online Review Site Highlights Customer-Friendly Dealers

DealerRater, the world’s leading car dealer review website, created the Consumer Satisfaction Award program to let online car shoppers instantly spot dealers that provide high-quality customer service.

FFC Logo New CarThe award gives Florida Fine Cars a unique distinction based on the dealership’s high volume of five-star online customer reviews. It was an honor to be recognized for a third time for its customer service, Suid said.

“It’s gratifying to know that DealerRater recognizes hard much work goes into achieving so many positive customer reviews,” Suid added.

Consumer Satisfaction Awards are given to the top 10 percent of U.S. new-car dealers based on their PowerScore™, as well as top independent and Canadian dealerships that receive at least 25 annual reviews and maintain an average PowerScore™ rating of 4.0 out of 5.0., according to DealerRater’s website.

The PowerScore™ is determined using a Bayesian algorithm that factors the dealership’s average DealerRater consumer rating and the total number of reviews written about the dealership during the 2016 calendar year.

“We’d like to congratulate Florida Fine Cars and all of our Consumer Satisfaction Award winners,” said DealerRater General Manager, Jamie Oldershaw. “DealerRater’s extensive review database allows shoppers to identify dealerships that are providing excellent customer experiences, and it’s clear that Florida Fine Cars stands out amongst its peers in the U.S.”

DealerRater features more than four million dealer reviews, and has a reachable audience of more than 32 million car shoppers each month.

“Our awards program was more competitive than ever this past year, with thousands of dealers across the U.S. and Canada competing to win our coveted Dealer of the Year award,” Oldershaw said. “The Consumer Satisfaction Award is one way for today’s shoppers to instantly recognize quality customer service regardless of brand or region.”

DealerRater offers more than 6 million sales and service reviews across 42,000 U.S. and Canadian dealerships, including a network of more than 6,000 Certified Dealers.

WEST PALM BEACH – Used car giant Florida Fine Cars sponsored “The 7th Home Show Munch, Mingle & Much More” in a show of support for Autism Speaks Palm Beach County.

The nationally recognized non-profit organization received a portion of event proceeds to fund advocacy and support for individuals who are diagnosed with autism. The funds also go towards research into the cause and early intervention. A 55-inch television and several other items were raffled to raise money.FFC Logo New Car

“Our whole goal is to connect with the local businesses and families and let them know there are resources here,” explained Melissa Dinuzzo, manager for Autism Speaks Palm Beach, as she passed out brochures about autism and answered questions. “We want to promote acceptance and understanding and also promote our March 4th Autism Speaks Walk to raise money.”

Autism Speaks Offers Family Support, Community Outreach

Florida Fine Cars signed on as a sponsor because the family-owned auto dealership is active in the community and a strong supporter of not-for-profit organizations.

“Autism Speaks is a lifeline for families with autistic children. It provides education, outreach and a huge array of resources for families who may otherwise feel frustrated or alone. It was an easy decision to become part of this worthy event,” said Jamie Suid, marketing director for Florida Fine Cars. “Helping kids is what it’s all about.”

About 2,000 local residents attended the event at the Meyer Amphitheater in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach.

According to the Autism Speaks website, the organization is “dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.”

Increasing Autism Awareness and Acceptance is Organization’s Goal

Dinuzzo said events like the Jan. 13th one are important for increasing awareness about autism and helping to reduce stigmas that often result due to a lack of knowledge.

The event also provided a chance for Dinuzzo to plug the upcoming March 4th Autism Speaks Walk to raise money for the cause. The annual walk is a major fundraiser for the not-for-profit organization.

According to Dinuzzo, one in 68 children are diagnosed with autism and more than 70 million people worldwide are on the autism spectrum. The cost to care for a child on the spectrum is estimated at approximately $65,000, she said. Therapies such as physical, speech, and applied behavioral analysis are commonly used, she noted. Costly medications may also be part of treatment.

“You can look at someone on the spectrum and they look just like everyone else, but they might lack the eye contact,” she explained. Individuals on the autism spectrum may have a wide range of symptoms, skills and levels of disability. Those who suffer from autism may have ongoing social problems that include difficulty communicating and interacting with others, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.

“We want to be that puzzle piece that connects the community to resources,” Dinuzzo said.
