6 Helpful Tips for an Awesome Car Buying Experience

Buying a used car used to be tricky business, but with so much information available to car buyers these days, it’s not the stressful experience it used to be. Florida Fine Cars makes NewFCCLogoused car buying easy with a transparent buying process that takes the mystery out of the sale.  Customers can view the cars they’re interested in online and research their history at the same time. Before a customer ever steps into a dealership, they can have a good sense of exactly which cars they want to check out.

The following tips will help narrow your search:

1.) Have a Budget and Stick to It

Knowing what you can afford to spend is key to a successful car buying experience. Customers who select cars that are priced too high for their budget are in for trouble. Determine beforehand how much you can afford to spend each month and shop accordingly. The cost of a used car is more than just the payment. Car buyers have to

budget for tax, title, registration and insurance for any vehicle they purchase. It’s important to get the right ride at the right price, even if you have to give up some bells and whistles.

2.) Choose a Make and Model that Suits Your Budget and Lifestyle

Where will you be driving your car and what will it be used for? Do you work in construction and need a work truck that will get banged up and battered on the job? Or are you a commuter who drives long distances every day and needs a reliable ride with excellent gas mileage? Or maybe you’re a retiree who’s finally going to buy that sports car you’ve been dreaming of for years. It’s important to know what you need and how you will use the vehicle before deciding on which ride to pursue.

3.) Do Your Homework

Once you figure out what type of car you’re interested in, research the vehicle online at www.KBB.com or www.Edmunds.com to review the vehicle’s safety and performance ratings. Find out if any problems have been reported and what the vehicle’s strong points are. Do reviewers have good things to say about this car? Does it get good gas mileage? kbblogoHave reviewers noted troublesome blind spots? How did it rate in crash tests? Before you sign on the dotted line, know as much as possible about what you are buying. The best way to do that is read, read, read. Florida Fine Cars’ website includes a KBB feature that allows customers to quickly compare Florida Fine Cars’ prices to the Kelley Blue Book®Fair Market Range using the Kelley Blue Book® Price Advisor directly on the Florida Fine Cars website.

4.) Check the Vehicle’s History

Once you’ve decided on the make and model and you’ve found a car that looks good, your work’s still not done. Now you have to research the vehicle’s history. Florida Fine Cars makes this easy for customers by offering a free Carfax Report with every used car for sale on its website. Simply click on the Carfax logo to access a report. A car that’s been repaired to manufacturer’s standards can be a great deal. Customers can also have a mechanic check out a car before buying it.

blackbmw

Florida Fine Cars offers a huge selection of quality used BMW models.

5.) Test Drive the Car

Now it’s time to get behind the wheel and take the car for a spin. How do you feel sitting in the drivers seat? Can you reach the pedals comfortably? Is there adequate leg room? Does the interior feel cramped or is it roomy? Is the cabin noisy on the highway or it is quiet? Does the car have custom wheels that will be expensive to replace? Turn the lights on and off, run the windows down and check out the brakes. Test driving the car is your time to decide if you like how the car handles.

6.) Consider Additional Protection

Many vehicles will still have a portion of the manufacturer’s full warranty remaining. Others will have exceeded the mileage and/or time limitation. While not absolutely necessary, extending the factory warranty coverage can offer significant peace of mind for those future miles yet to be driven.

Vehicles are made up of thousands of moving parts and it’s only a matter of time that some will fail. Even with keeping up recommended maintenance, an issue can still occur that could set you back thousands of dollars unexpectedly. Having the extra coverage will help during any surprises in the future.

4 Simple Ways to Love Your Car in 2017

It’s that time of year when everyone’s vowing self-improvement as they make resolutions to start out the New Year right. But what about your car? Why not kick off the 2017 with a list of all the ways you’re going to take better care of the wheels you rely on to get you around town.

Taking care of your car properly isn’t expensive and it just makes sense.NewFCCLogo

Follow these four simple tips to keep your car running right!

Check the Wheels and Tires

Flat tires are no fun. They’re inconvenient, time-consuming and depending on where you have a blow out they can be downright dangerous. Make it a priority to check the tread on

tireblowout

Checking air pressure regularly can help prevent blow outs.

your tires, examine the sidewalls for cracks and wear and watch for embedded nails or screws. Properly inflated tires are also key to performance. An overinflated tire tends to wear more along the inside of the tread and an under-inflated tire wears more along the edges of the tread. Incorrectly inflated tires can affect cornering, handling and stopping.

“Checking the air is important because tires wear faster with improper inflation,” said Florida Fine Cars service manager Chris G. “You’ll have to replace them much sooner.”

Also, if your steering wheel shakes while driving, it could mean your tires need to be balanced. Get it done or you can wear out the suspension components.

Top Off Fluids and Keep Them Clean

Lift up the hood and take a look! There are five basic fluids you need to keep tabs on to keep things running smoothly:

hoodcar

Make it a practice to routinely check auto fluids.

  • Engine oil (Wipe the dipstick and re-insert for a clean read. It should register in the normal range. If not, add more!)
  • Brake fluid: the fluid level should register between the “low” and “high” marks
  • Coolant: This dumps into an overflow container near the radiator. If it’s below the “minimum” line fill it
  • Power steering fluid: located near the firewall at the windshield’s base. If low, add more
  • Windshield washer fluid: You want clean windows, don’t you? Add more if it’s low!

“Fluids are what keeps the engine alive,” the Florida Fine Cars service manager noted. “Pay attention. If any of the indicator lights go on, get it checked.”

Make It Shine

Filthy cars aren’t fun. Throw out trash, vacuum the floor and seats and clean the windows thoroughly, inside and out. And if you really mean business, get out the wax, roll up your

sleeves and make it shine. As a car ages, the surface gets hazier. Wax will help bring that new car shine back.

“The interior is really the main focus of  your car,” noted Florida Fine Cars’ service manager. Clean up spills and stains quickly so they don’t become permanent. And if you have leather seats, condition them with a quality product every six months to keep the leather supple and extend its life.

Get It Serviced

Preventative care is always best and getting your vehicle serviced is good common sense. Having professionals check out your car on a regular basis can save you money on big repairs that started out as small problems but morphed into monsters because they went unnoticed.

“If you see a ‘check engine’ light go on, get it checked!” Chris advised. “It could be something serious or it could escalate into something serious.”

Brake squeaks are also something to never ignore.

“If you keep driving on worn brakes, you can damage the brake rotors if the brake pads wear down. You could save hundreds of dollars if you get the problem fixed in time,” he added.

Taking care of your vehicle properly will extend its life and making driving in 2017 a dream! Florida Fine Cars operates a AAA Approved Repair Center and a Certified Goodyear Service Center which handles everything from oil changes to 4-wheel alignments and brake services. Stop by today and be impressed!

Are You Getting the Best Deal on Your Car Insurance?

Florida Fine Cars has partnered with Florida1 insurance brokers so customers can get the best deal on a used car AND the best deal on insurance at the same time.

NewFCCLogoIt’s all about improving customer service to make sure the Florida Fine Cars used car buying experience is the best one around.

Florida1 brokers began working on-site at Florida Fine Cars West Palm Beach in December 2016 and have been at Florida Fine Cars Miami since last September. They are available at Florida Fine Cars Hollywood by phone.

chriskellom

Florida Fine Cars General Manager Chris Kellom said having insurance brokers on site is all about improving customer service.

“It’s convenient for the customer. A lot of time late at night it’s hard to reach some of the smaller insurance companies,” explained Chris Kellom, general manager at Florida Fine Cars Miami. “Now it’s one-stop shopping.”

It’s an arrangement that can reduce stress and save customers money.

And because insurance issues can make or break a car deal, having brokers on site just makes sense, said Florida1 general sales manager Sigrid Neu. Florida1 works with about four dozen insurers in order to offer customers a variety of insurance choices, she said.

“Sometimes on weekends insurance companies are closed or during the week they close at 5 p.m.,” Neu explained. “We are here to add vehicles to insurance policies or get customers better rates from other companies.”

It’s all about added peace of mind.

“We reached out to Florida1 as a convenience,” Kellom explained. “It was slowing down the car buying process when we couldn’t get hold of insurance companies. Having Florida1 on site has helped out quit a bit.”

Customers sometimes get so caught up in the excitement of buying a used car they forget to make insurance arrangments, Kellom said. But with Florida1 available every day, Florida Fine Cars has a new and convenient way to offer assistance so car buyers don’t have to worry.

“It’s working,” Kellom said.

3 Reasons Why a Used BMW M5 is the Right Ride!

When it comes to the BMW M5, it’s all about performance, power and style.

And if you love to drive, this sporty sedan is the perfect ride.

NewFCCLogo“It’s a driver’s car. If you like a combination of comfort and power, this car has everything,” said Rafael Espaillat, general manager at Florida Fine Cars in West Palm Beach, where the 2013 model car is available for thousands less than retail. Espaillat owns a 2013 BMW M5 and drives it everywhere he goes.

rafaelespaillot

It’s an amazing car,” Espaillat said. Espaillat loves to drive fast and this sports car fits the bill.

1. BMW M5 Offers Performance and Power

The BMW M5’s 7-speed dual clutch automated manual transmission is part of what makes this car so sweet. This model is also manufactured with a 6-speed manual transmission.

According to Edmunds.com, the “gearbox is a vast improvement over the clunky single-clutch SM setup seen in the outgoing model.” The 2013 model has a twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 engine. It’s output was increased from 500 to 560 horsepower and its torque has been upped from 383 to 501 pound-feet.

“The end result is a car that launches like a cannon shell out of the hole, yet overall fuel economy is 30 percent better, BMW claims,” said Edmunds.com. The car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds with a DCT.

“Power,” Espaillat said, referring to the car’s appeal. “It’s all about power.”

In fact, the car has so much power Espaillat regularly takes his own BMW M5 to Palm Beach International Raceway or Homestead-Miami Speedway to run it on the track.

bmwm5black

BMW M5 available for sale at www.floridafinecars.com

“The sheer brute force of the 2013 BMW M5’s V8 is enough to leave you shaken and breathless; even so the plant delivers this thunder with grace and sophistication,” Edmunds.com states. “As a result, the sedan is always a pleasant and easy companion, whether driven hard on winding blacktop or at a leisurely clip during mundane city travel.”

2. BMW M5 Looks as Fierce as it Drives

The BMW M5 looks sharp with its larger air intakes, chrome-trimmed vents in the front fenders, rear spoiler and sizeable quad exhaust pipes, Edmunds.com notes.

Other impressive components include:

  • 19-inch alloy wheels
  • 16-way power sport front seats
  • Automatic start/stop function
  • Adaptive suspension dampers

Kelley Blue Book calls the BMW M5 a “perpetual motion machine” that drivers will love if they like an even combination of performance, comfort and practicality.

“BMW’s mid-sized offering is blessed with ‘all-weather’ performance, going tough when the going gets tough,” KBB states.

3. Used BMW M5s Are a Great Investment!

Finding a quality used BMW M5 can be challenging because many of the used models for sale show significant wear and tear. Florida Fine Cars’ BMW M5 models sell quickly because demand for the classy performance models is keen. Florida Fine Cars sells all its used BMW M5 models for thousands below retail.

BMW M5 models are economical to drive and they hold their value. Espaillat has owned several which he has resold for the same or more than he originally paid because their resale value is so strong.

How Fantastic Customer Service Drives Car Sales to the Top

The best Florida Fine Cars used car salesmen know their success is defined by two words:  customer service.

NewFCCLogoIt’s why Florida Fine Cars salesman Moe Eisa is the company’s top seller month after month and why success in the car business is bigger than a simple hustle. The internet has leveled the playing field when it comes to pricing so when car buyers walk into a used car showroom, they expect top-notch service in addition to competitive pricing and incredible inventory.

Moe Eisa is Florida Fine Cars' top seller companywide and for the West Palm Beach store.

“Florida Fine Cars was built on a foundation of great customer service,” said Florida Fine Cars marketing director Jamie Suid. “It’s what keeps customers coming back. People shop where they are treated right.”

2016DRCustomerSatisfactionAward (1)Great customer service is the culture at Florida Fine Cars. In fact, Florida Fine Cars Hollywood and Florida Fine Cars Miami were each awarded a 2016 DealerRater Consumer Satisfaction Award, an annual recognition given to auto dealerships that deliver outstanding customer service as rated by online consumer reviews.

Great Customer Service Equals Great Sales

Florida Fine Cars’ top sellers for October and November agree their success is directly related to how they treat customers. If a customer isn’t king, they won’t refer their family and friends and they won’t come back to buy another vehicle for themselves.

alin

Alin Botez, Florida Fine Cars Miami

“I make people happy. A lot of customers are very excited and you can tell they really appreciate what we do,” said Alin Botez, who sold 18 used cars in November, earning him the honor of Miami’s top seller for the month.  “I feel good about what I do. I am not a competitive guy.”

Botez learned about the value of great customer service while working in the restaurant business. He cleared dishes and clean tables as a bus boy, waited tables and delivered pizza. Simply speaking, good service translated into good tips. So when he began selling used cars for Florida Fine Cars, he already knew how to make customers smile. His reviews on DealerRater show it.

“Had a great experience buying this car with with Alin helping me through the process. Had a decent price for my trade in and drove off in an amazing car,” wrote one customer who bought a BMW M5 from Botez in a review on DealerRater.
Wrote another customer on DealerRater: “Alin was great working to get me approved for the car I wanted. We did all the leg work over the phone, and once the deal was approved, I drove down and finalized everything and brought my new used car home. I appreciated everything Alin did.”
Attitude is Everything

Hollywood’s Jeffrey Disla was his store’s top November seller with the sale of 12 used cars. Disla’s nickname “Smiley” is a clue to his success: it describes how he treats customers and everyone else who crosses his path. With joy.

jeffreydisla

Jeffrey ‘Smiley’ Disla, Florida Fine Cars Hollywood

“Once you have a customer it’s game time. What really impacted me  the most was having a positive attitude and confidence,” Disla said. Disla worked closely with his managers to improve his sakes and also worked from open to close most of the month to achieve success.

“I followed through with all my customers,” Disla said. His five-star ratings from customers who posted reviews on DealerRater say it all:

“Prior coming to the dealer offices located in Hollywood Fl, I basically knew the car that I wanted and did the search for the car fax history.. Once I got there Mr Jeffrey Disla help me with the best attitude and knowledge possible and made my experience fast, nice and easy ..!

Hollywood sales manager Elias Contreras said Disla’s upbeat attitude and persistence are a winning combination.

“He had confidence and he worked 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. He is real honest and he doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer,” Contreras noted. “He doesn’t brush anyone off because they have a low credit score or a repossession in the past.”

Miami sales consultant Donald Jarrett, his store’s top October seller with 15 used cars, gets a lot of return customers because people like they way he treats them. Customer service wins.

“A lot of repeat customers, a lot of referrals,” Jarrett conceded. “I like talking to people and selling. There’s no real secret to it. You just have to put your mind to it.”

Car Color: What It Says About the Driver

When it comes to cars, are all colors equal? Studies show they aren’t and that each hue plays a different role in the image a driver wants to portray.trucktransport

Let’s face it: the personality of a vehicle is as important to the owner as the make and model.

Experts who study how color affects consumers agree that a car shopper’s color choice is the result of careful consideration. What driver doesn’t want their ride to reflect their personality?NewFCCLogo

Whether the goal is sleek sophistication, polished perfection or bold beauty, the color you choose says a lot about you.

Car buyers are passionate about what they love. Or hate.

Just ask veteran car saleswoman Amiee Miller, who’s been selling used cars at Florida Fine Cars for 4 1/2 years.

amiee-miller

Florida Fine Cars Sales Associate Amiee Miller

“They get extremely crazy over the color of their car. A person who wants a white car, wants a white car. A person who wants a black car wants a black car,” Miller said. “Color can make or break a deal. Some shoppers won’t even look at a car unless it’s a certain color.”

The most popular car colors? Black and white, followed by silver and gray, she said.

“Black is incognito. It’s luxury and power,” Miller said. “White is so Miami, so South Florida.”

Cars buyers who gravitate toward orange, red, yellow or green like something a little different. Cars with unique interior colors like peanut butter, gold, terra cotta or red also have devoted followers. And sometimes a car color just depends on whimsy.

“It takes a particular person who sees that car and just wants it,” Miller noted.

Experts who study color and consumerism say choosing a car color is also about how the car owner wants OTHERS to perceive them instead of just a reflection of how they see themselves.

Hot-Headed or Cool as a Cucumber?

blackbmw

Black is associated with luxury, power and sophistication

Car buyers are attracted to the same colors over and over mostly because the colors reflect an element of their personality. Experts who study color link certain traits to specific colors. Take a look:

Black: Associated with luxury and sophistication. Drivers who choose black vehicles select them because they want to look like they are in charge. It’s the color of choice for royalty, presidents and diplomats and it is all about power.

White: Youthful and modern. Drivers who pick white are clean, fastidious and prideful. It’s also a popular color in hot climates because it reflects light and helps keep you cool. And yes, it’s sooo Miami.

Silver:  Elegant, futuristic and modern. It’s sleek and beautiful and it doesn’t get as dirty as white.

Gray: Dignity, tradition and maturity. A person who drives a gray car doesn’t want to stand out.

reddodge

Red says, “Look at me!”

Red: Confidence, passion and high energy. Red is a color that says, “Look at me!”

Blue: Stability and serenity. This is a practical, cheerful color. Don’t worry. Be happy.

Brown/beige: Down-to-earth, thrifty and honest .A driver who chooses brown isn’t concerned about style, trends or fads.

Yellow: Joyous and positive. This is a color for the young at heart. Smile!

Green: Linked to nature, strong sense of self. Drivers who pick this hue don’t care what others think.

Orange: Unusual. Drivers who choose this hue aren’t afraid of being different.

orangemustang

Car buyers who choose orange dare to be different.

logoinventorySelling used cars can be tough business but Florida Fine Cars sales consultants make it look easy.

Top selling Florida Fine Cars sales personnel ask lots of questions, listen closely and are realistic in trying to meet a car buyer’s needs and wants. They know how to find a customer the right ride within budget and keep that customer smiling until they drive off the lot.NewFCCLogo

“It’s tough but it’s fun,” said Florida Fine Cars sales manager Torrey Lunn, who works in the dealer’s West Palm Beach store. “The same stress that will drive you crazy makes (this business) fun. You are not selling someone a car. You are helping them find a car.”

Florida Fine Cars top sales consultants follow these simple rules:

  1. Listen to what a customer wants and help them find a used car that fits their needs.
  2. Keep the customer within budget.  Trying to sell a car buyer the right vehicle at the right price is what it’s all about.
  3. Be honest. Customers today are well-educated and have done their homework ahead of time.

Florida Fine Cars veteran finance manager Craig Grunewald explains why it makes sense to buy your next car used at Florida Fine Cars, a family-owned used car dealer known for its impressive selection of quality used cars.NewFCCLogo

Remember, used car shopping has evolved with the growth of the Internet and used car dealers have been forced to up their game: transparency, honesty, no hidden fees, no dealer fees and total disclosure are what car buyers experience when they shop at Florida Fine Cars.

Here are Grunewald’s top 5 reasons why buying a used Florida Fine Cars vehicle is the ONLY way to go:

  1. Depreciation. It’s the No. 1 reason why everyone should buy used. New car values drop an estimated 30 percent in the first year. According to Edmunds.com, a car loses less than that in years two, three and four combined. That means a car buyer who purchases a car in its second year and owns it for three years saves a ton of cash, Edmunds.com notes. “(Customers) should save that money (they would lose the first year) and instead buy a used vehicle,” Grunewald said. “A used vehicle depreciates much less.”
  2. Cost. A used vehicle has already depreciated so there won’t be as much sticker shock upfront. A used vehicle simply costs less than a new one. You automatically get more bang for your buck when you buy used instead of new, Grunewald said.
  3. More for Less. Cars are all about image and when a customer buys used instead of new, dreams CAN come true! A make and model that would normally be out of a car buyer’s range suddenly becomes attainable because it costs so much less used. “Someone could walk into a dealer wanting to buy a Honda and realize that a used Mercedes is the same price as a new Honda,” Grunewald stated. “A customer can own a make and model that they would never aspire to own otherwise.”
  4. Perfect Payments. Finding the right size payment is a challenge most car buyers face. Too much car translates into too big a payment. But with a used car, obtaining an affordable car payment is much more likely because the car itself will be much more reasonably priced.“People are always worried about the payment. Used cars have already been depreciated so you are buying the car for less. When comparing to a similar car new, the payments will be much less,” Grunewald pointed out.
  5. Warranties. When it comes to protecting your used car, no worries. Extended warranties can be purchased for most used vehicles, providing used car buyers the same sort of added peace of mind they might have when buying a more expensive new car that is under factory warranty.

According to Tasevski, lowest price is what most car buyers are shopping for and the majority of potential buyers who walk into a dealership have already done their homework online.

“Most customers know what kind of car they can qualify for. They are smart customers,” Tasevski added.

So what can a used car buyer do to make their car shopping experience even easier? Here are a few tips from Tasevski that will help simplify the process:

  1. Know your budget:  A customer has to have an adequate income to purchase a car and must be realistic when selecting a price range.“If someone makes $10-an-hour, they won’t qualify for an $80,000 car,” Tasevski said. “They have to have reasonable expectations.”
  2. Know how much money you can afford to put down:  The amount required to purchase a used car will vary based on the make, model and year of the vehicle.“The older the car and the higher mileage, the less money a customer generally has to put down, and vice versa,” Tasevski noted. Be prepared.
  3. Know your credit score:  A customer with a higher credit score can usually obtain a better interest rate and better loan terms. Customers with lower credit score can still purchase vehicles but must be more flexible in their expectations about terms and rates. Florida Fine Cars works with all customers.
  4. Bring proof of income: Pay stubs are essential. Car dealers can’t sell a vehicle to someone who doesn’t have the ability to pay off a car loan.
  5. Know what you are shopping for: Used car dealers today are so large and stock so many different makes and models that an unprepared used car shopper can easily be overwhelmed by the massive inventory. Every used car for sale is unique so it is important to know ahead of time what kind of car you are looking for and what features are important to you. Knowing these facts beforehand will simplify a car buyer’s search.
  6. Get pre-approved for financing online: Go to www.floridafinecars.com and click the “financing” button at the top of the page. Fill out the form ahead of time to save time when you arrive at the dealership. It’s simple.
  7. Read the free online CARFAX reports:  An educated customer is a smart customer and much information is available online about every used car for sale at Florida Fine Cars.  Find out as much possible about a car’s history before your purchase so you are completely comfortable with your selection.
