6 Helpful Tips for an Awesome Car Buying Experience

Buying a used car used to be tricky business, but with so much information available to car buyers these days, it’s not the stressful experience it used to be. Florida Fine Cars makes NewFCCLogoused car buying easy with a transparent buying process that takes the mystery out of the sale.  Customers can view the cars they’re interested in online and research their history at the same time. Before a customer ever steps into a dealership, they can have a good sense of exactly which cars they want to check out.

The following tips will help narrow your search:

1.) Have a Budget and Stick to It

Knowing what you can afford to spend is key to a successful car buying experience. Customers who select cars that are priced too high for their budget are in for trouble. Determine beforehand how much you can afford to spend each month and shop accordingly. The cost of a used car is more than just the payment. Car buyers have to

budget for tax, title, registration and insurance for any vehicle they purchase. It’s important to get the right ride at the right price, even if you have to give up some bells and whistles.

2.) Choose a Make and Model that Suits Your Budget and Lifestyle

Where will you be driving your car and what will it be used for? Do you work in construction and need a work truck that will get banged up and battered on the job? Or are you a commuter who drives long distances every day and needs a reliable ride with excellent gas mileage? Or maybe you’re a retiree who’s finally going to buy that sports car you’ve been dreaming of for years. It’s important to know what you need and how you will use the vehicle before deciding on which ride to pursue.

3.) Do Your Homework

Once you figure out what type of car you’re interested in, research the vehicle online at www.KBB.com or www.Edmunds.com to review the vehicle’s safety and performance ratings. Find out if any problems have been reported and what the vehicle’s strong points are. Do reviewers have good things to say about this car? Does it get good gas mileage? kbblogoHave reviewers noted troublesome blind spots? How did it rate in crash tests? Before you sign on the dotted line, know as much as possible about what you are buying. The best way to do that is read, read, read. Florida Fine Cars’ website includes a KBB feature that allows customers to quickly compare Florida Fine Cars’ prices to the Kelley Blue Book®Fair Market Range using the Kelley Blue Book® Price Advisor directly on the Florida Fine Cars website.

4.) Check the Vehicle’s History

Once you’ve decided on the make and model and you’ve found a car that looks good, your work’s still not done. Now you have to research the vehicle’s history. Florida Fine Cars makes this easy for customers by offering a free Carfax Report with every used car for sale on its website. Simply click on the Carfax logo to access a report. A car that’s been repaired to manufacturer’s standards can be a great deal. Customers can also have a mechanic check out a car before buying it.

5.) Test Drive the Car

Now it’s time to get behind the wheel and take the car for a spin. How do you feel sitting in the drivers seat? Can you reach the pedals comfortably? Is there adequate leg room? Does the interior feel cramped or is it roomy? Is the cabin noisy on the highway or it is quiet? Does the car have custom wheels that will be expensive to replace? Turn the lights on and off, run the windows down and check out the brakes. Test driving the car is your time to decide if you like how the car handles.

6.) Consider Additional Protection

Many vehicles will still have a portion of the manufacturer’s full warranty remaining. Others will have exceeded the mileage and/or time limitation. While not absolutely necessary, extending the factory warranty coverage can offer significant peace of mind for those future miles yet to be driven.

Vehicles are made up of thousands of moving parts and it’s only a matter of time that some will fail. Even with keeping up recommended maintenance, an issue can still occur that could set you back thousands of dollars unexpectedly. Having the extra coverage will help during any surprises in the future.

4 Simple Ways to Love Your Car in 2017

It’s that time of year when everyone’s vowing self-improvement as they make resolutions to start out the New Year right. But what about your car? Why not kick off the 2017 with a list of all the ways you’re going to take better care of the wheels you rely on to get you around town.

Taking care of your car properly isn’t expensive and it just makes sense.NewFCCLogo

Follow these four simple tips to keep your car running right!

Check the Wheels and Tires

Flat tires are no fun. They’re inconvenient, time-consuming and depending on where you have a blow out they can be downright dangerous. Make it a priority to check the tread on

your tires, examine the sidewalls for cracks and wear and watch for embedded nails or screws. Properly inflated tires are also key to performance. An overinflated tire tends to wear more along the inside of the tread and an under-inflated tire wears more along the edges of the tread. Incorrectly inflated tires can affect cornering, handling and stopping.

“Checking the air is important because tires wear faster with improper inflation,” said Florida Fine Cars service manager Chris G. “You’ll have to replace them much sooner.”

Also, if your steering wheel shakes while driving, it could mean your tires need to be balanced. Get it done or you can wear out the suspension components.

Top Off Fluids and Keep Them Clean

Lift up the hood and take a look! There are five basic fluids you need to keep tabs on to keep things running smoothly:

Make it a practice to routinely check auto fluids.

  • Engine oil (Wipe the dipstick and re-insert for a clean read. It should register in the normal range. If not, add more!)
  • Brake fluid: the fluid level should register between the “low” and “high” marks
  • Coolant: This dumps into an overflow container near the radiator. If it’s below the “minimum” line fill it
  • Power steering fluid: located near the firewall at the windshield’s base. If low, add more
  • Windshield washer fluid: You want clean windows, don’t you? Add more if it’s low!

“Fluids are what keeps the engine alive,” the Florida Fine Cars service manager noted. “Pay attention. If any of the indicator lights go on, get it checked.”

Make It Shine

Filthy cars aren’t fun. Throw out trash, vacuum the floor and seats and clean the windows thoroughly, inside and out. And if you really mean business, get out the wax, roll up your

sleeves and make it shine. As a car ages, the surface gets hazier. Wax will help bring that new car shine back.

“The interior is really the main focus of  your car,” noted Florida Fine Cars’ service manager. Clean up spills and stains quickly so they don’t become permanent. And if you have leather seats, condition them with a quality product every six months to keep the leather supple and extend its life.

Get It Serviced

Preventative care is always best and getting your vehicle serviced is good common sense. Having professionals check out your car on a regular basis can save you money on big repairs that started out as small problems but morphed into monsters because they went unnoticed.

“If you see a ‘check engine’ light go on, get it checked!” Chris advised. “It could be something serious or it could escalate into something serious.”

Brake squeaks are also something to never ignore.

“If you keep driving on worn brakes, you can damage the brake rotors if the brake pads wear down. You could save hundreds of dollars if you get the problem fixed in time,” he added.

Taking care of your vehicle properly will extend its life and making driving in 2017 a dream! Florida Fine Cars operates a AAA Approved Repair Center and a Certified Goodyear Service Center which handles everything from oil changes to 4-wheel alignments and brake services. Are You Getting the Best Deal on Your Car Insurance?

Florida Fine Cars has partnered with Florida1 insurance brokers so customers can get the best deal on a used car AND the best deal on insurance at the same time.

NewFCCLogoIt’s all about improving customer service to make sure the Florida Fine Cars used car buying experience is the best one around.

Florida1 brokers began working on-site at Florida Fine Cars West Palm Beach in December 2016 and have been at Florida Fine Cars Miami since last September. They are available at Florida Fine Cars Hollywood by phone.

Florida Fine Cars General Manager Chris Kellom said having insurance brokers on site is all about improving customer service.

“It’s convenient for the customer. A lot of time late at night it’s hard to reach some of the smaller insurance companies,” explained Chris Kellom, general manager at Florida Fine Cars Miami. “Now it’s one-stop shopping.”

It’s an arrangement that can reduce stress and save customers money.

And because insurance issues can make or break a car deal, having brokers on site just makes sense, said Florida1 general sales manager Sigrid Neu. Florida1 works with about four dozen insurers in order to offer customers a variety of insurance choices, she said.

“Sometimes on weekends insurance companies are closed or during the week they close at 5 p.m.,” Neu explained. “We are here to add vehicles to insurance policies or get customers better rates from other companies.”

It’s all about added peace of mind.

“We reached out to Florida1 as a convenience,” Kellom explained. “It was slowing down the car buying process when we couldn’t get hold of insurance companies. Having Florida1 on site has helped out quit a bit.”

Customers sometimes get so caught up in the excitement of buying a used car they forget to make insurance arrangments, Kellom said. But with Florida1 available every day, Florida Fine Cars has a new and convenient way to offer assistance so car buyers don’t have to worry.

“It’s working,” Kellom said.
